Reflection for Empowerment Technologies Subject

     I learned many things about our subject E-Tech. At first I am so confused. You need to analyze and understand it very well. But when you listen carefully to your teacher while she is speaking in front of the class you will easily understand and cope up with the lessons.

     I thought ICT means Information and Computer Technology but I was wrong, our teacher told us that ICT deals with the different communication technology such as mobile phones, telephone and internet, it is to locate, save, send and edit information. I learned that the meaning of WWW is World Wide Web, a system on the internet that allows documents to be connected to the other documents. A web page is hypertext documents that is connected to the internet.

     I also learned that website has two types, the dynamic and static. Dynamic can operate more effectively and more easier to maintain update and connect, it can create website like facebook, youtube, instagram, google and other social medias. While the static is also known as a flat page and cannot be manipulated by the other user.

     I also knew that there are four types of web 2.0, the folksonomy, Rich user interface, user participation and longtail. There are also different types of social medias, there are social networking, Bookmarking sites, Social news, media sharing, Microblogging and Blogs and forums.

     Because of these, I realized and learned all the mistakes that I did very time I am using Social Networking Sites. The mistakes I make every time I insert different flash drives in my PC, unprotected. Posting too much is really unsafe. We also discussed about the different threats in the Internet and in PCs. It is always a big problem, especially to students, if your PC will have virus, you will lose important files. But everything was solved because of Empowerment Technology.

     Always remember that we are not safe in the internet. Be careful on what information you will post to the different social medias. Think before you click. Remember the higher the technology that we are using have also high responsibility. Be mature enough.

     Empowerment Technology really is an essential help for all the users of internet which is probably us, in order to add knowledge or to learn new things that will lead to a way better than we expected. We should not take for granted all the things we learn about Empowerment Technology because it not only helps us to become pro in using technologies but also we have the discipline and the knowlegde so as to become professional technology users. Love what you are doing and surely you will learn.
